Meet the Coach

Heidi Martin has completed the OE western riders level 1-4 & intermediate, Vault Canada trainers certification program & NCCP. A second generation stable owner with 20 years coaching experience who oversees all our programs. Heidi started her western show career in the Listowel 4H club. From a young age had a passion and natural ability training horses for her families stable. She grew up competing at many club shows and fairs wining many ribbons and high point awards. Progressing to rodeos, OBRA & jackpot events with her youth horses Rocky & Summer. In 2002 Heidi purchased Cody as a green broke 2 yr old, together they grew into the dynamic duo showing both performance and speed classes, winning countless awards together & walking her down the isle.

In 2013, Heidi married Kyle and they purchased their farm the following year. Starting Maple Rock Stables in 2014, offering boarding, lessons, summer camps & starting her first beginner youth western show team. In 2015 Heidi was invited to a vaulting coaches clinic called "First Gait". As a former trick rider she fell in love with the sport and jumped in with both feet. Starting the second vaulting team in Ontario, teaching clinics to help educate and grow the sport, hosting some of the first vaulting shows in the province to showcase talents. Taking a group of 9 vaulters to Chilliwack BC in 2023 to compete at the future champions nationals.

Starting the next phase of development in the fall of 2023 with her dream barn addition. She now focuses on being a mom to her two boys Austin & Tyler, while continuing to grow Maple Rock Stables and its programs. With a focus on continued education and development.
