Summer Camp Programs
A great alternative to conventional day care, a fun way to meet new friends and to learn about our different equine sports. We teach a variety of horsemanship skills in our many different programs, along with a few specialty camps. Our camps give students a unique hands on experience with 2 coached lessons a day, plus other FUN summer activities.
*** We also offer student camp counsellors positions & volunteer hours, sign up and come have fun with us!

July 6-10th Beginners FUNdamentals
Ages 6 -12
No previous horse experience required. An introduction to all things horses including; care, grooming, tacking, and of course riding. Try a little bit of everything Maple Rock Stables has to offer; western performance, games, trail obstacles, vaulting and more. All at a beginner walk/jog level with lead line assistance as needed. On our down time kids will have work sheets, crafts, games, and free play in the shade. An excellent way for novice riders to spend time outdoor on the farm with horses, meet new friends and learn how to ride.
*Based on our popular kids club learn to ride program.

July 13-17 Equestrian Drill Team
Ages 8-14
NEW for 2026! Have you ever watched the RCMP musical ride, or the more local Cutting-Edge Cowgirls? or wanted to try it out yourself? Well this is your chance! An equestrian drill team is a group of mounted riders that perform synchronized, choreographed routines to music. Showcasing intricate patterns, precise timing, horsemanship and teamwork. Evolving from historical cavalry drills into todays popular entertainment sport. ​
Riders will get a chance to perform to family and friends on Friday before pick up, to show off their new skills

July 20-24th Equestrian Vaulting
Ages 6+
** no experience required
this week long clinic style camp week is packed with lots of hands on vaulting experience. Our morning classes will be skills training in compulsories and building the fundamentals of vaulting. From on the ground, to the vaulting barrels, including our canter barrels. Building harmony with the horses and muscle memory. Afternoon classes will focus on freestyles, building your own or perfecting what you may already have.

Vaulters will have a chance to preform for family and friends on the Friday of camp

August 10-14th Western Games
Ages 8+ walk/jog/lope classes
This mini clinics style week will teach students proper patterns, body controls & drills. Working on developing their independent seat and better their horsemanship skills. Each day there will be focus on one or two popular games you may see at a local fair or club show, with a key focus on barrel racing and pole bending.
**We do allow student to bring their own horses to this camp. You are required to show proof of vaccination and riders liability insurance. They must do their own feeding and stall clean out. There are no additional boarding fees, while spaces last. Bring your own feed and bedding supplies**

August 17-21st Ranch
Ages 6+
Versatility ranch classes are becoming very popular in the western show world. Learn about the ever growing ranch riding, ranch pleasure, ranch trail, working cow horse and reining classes. Each day we will focus on a different class, covering class procedures, rule book info and what judges are looking for. A great beginner introduction before entering your first show, or just something new to try out.

August 24-28th Western Performance
Ages 6+
Western performance classes cover the finer arts of western riding. Commonly seen at fall fairs, and local club shows. Lessons will include halter, showmanship, western pleasure, horsemanship, command, and traditional trail. While outside the ring we will be learning stable management knowledge. This weeks workshops are designed for those students with an interest in entering the show pen.

**We do allow student to bring their own horses to this camp. You are required to show proof of vaccination and riders liability insurance. They must do their own feeding and stall clean out. There are no additional boarding fees, while spaces last. Bring your own feed and bedding supplies**
** A non refundable deposit of $100 is required to hold your space for any of our summer camp programs. The remainder is due one week before your scheduled camp week. Late fees will apply to any late payments** We do except Jumpstart

DRESS CODE for riding lessons
* Helmet - a well fitting certified riding helmet (this is law for ages 18 & under)​
* Boots - leather riding boots that cover the ankle & has a small heel (cowboy boots)
* Jeans - bootcut only, leg length down to the heel when knees are bent (roughly 2" longer than every day wear)
* Shirt - well fitted, preferably long sleeve (no tank tops), dress for the weather
*** Absolutely no sandals or crock are permitted for obvious safety reasons ***
